5.2.08 - For the Second Straight Week, Received the DS Diversified Services Hard Charger Award at Trail-Way Speedway.
Great news started Thursday night when an addition was added to the 4u team. Mason David Mentzer was born. Mason is the newly born son of Matt and Emily Mentzer, the owners of Upper Bermudian Nursery and Excavating. It was a great night for racing, the track held a lot of moisture and was fast. In the heat race we failed to finish due to a flaw with the tear offs. In the feature we started 18th and worked our way up to 7th place which awarded us for the second week in a row, the hard charger award. |

4.25.08 - Received the DS Diversified Services Hard Charger Award at Trail-Way Speedway
This friday at Trailways started out great. We drew a good number and started on the pole in the heat race. Out front and leading the first 4 laps, we had a mechanical problem causing us to drop out of the heat race. We then had to start in the rear of the feature in 20th starting position. We past some cars along the way, and others dropped out allowing us to finish the race in 9th position and officially the Diversified Services hard charger. |

4.18.08 - First time racing at Trail-Way Speedway
Having never raced at Trail-Way before I'd say overall not a bad night of racing for us, didn't end the way we wanted but for the most part valuable experience was gained. The track was real tacky and fast in the heat race. We ended up finishing a proud 2nd. Then later we started 7th in the feature where there were 6 cautions in a row with only one lap in the books! Our night was ended when entering turn 2 a car spun directly in front of me, I had nowhere to go AGAIN but right into the car ahead. Luckily, the collision only took my front wing and I was able to quickly get to the pits to remove the damaged wing. I had them push me out without the front wing, ran around for awhile but the handling was out of control plus I ran out of tear-offs! Ended up pulling it into the infield for the duration of the race. |

4.12.08 - Good run for first race of the season at Lincoln Speedway
Lincoln went up and down last night. In the heat race the first lap 3 cars flipped in front of me with no where to go.
I ran into the one flipping. It only damaged the wings, so we got the car back out, and finished 5th in the heat. Not good enough to qualify, but we ran the consolation event and finished 1st. Then another stream of bad luck in the feature with one guy spinning out and the guy in front of me checked up, causing me to hit his rear tire doing a wily stand, but landed and finished the race 16th. Not the best finish but, considering the fact that there was some damage to the car, causing handling to be tough not a bad night of racing for our first race of the year. |

4.11.08 - Rain Rain Go Away!
Once again for the second week in a row mother nature has made its way into Central PA dropping rain and cancelling the Trail-Way Speedway 358 Sprint Car Opener! Really wish we could have run tonight! We would've started on the poll in our heat race! Tomorrow at Lincoln Speedway is not looking good, as well. We'll all have to keep our fingers crossed for a break in the weather for a few hours. | |
