8.19.08 - Kasey Kahne Foundation Race at Williams Grove
Nathan took a week out of the hot seat to let "The Edge" Brian Montieth of the 410 Sprint Division race the car. With about 51 cars on hand he was able to make the A Main! Racing in his heat race were all 3 Nascar greats Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, and Dave Blaney. Brian finished 7th in that race. Later on he started 14th in the B Main and finished 4th to qualify for the A main! In the feature he started 21st and worked his way up to 13th then about half way through a small $15 part broke in the rear to end his run! Still a successful night for the 4u team and everyone involved.

7.19.08 - Lincoln Speedway
With another large showing of 358 teams, 41 to be exact, it would make qualifing a tough task. It was a fun night of racing for us. We finished 4th in our heat race qualifing us for the feature event. Car ran strong and was hooked up to run the high side of the track. We continued this strategy going into the feature. Overall a successful night of racing finishing 13th place.

6.21.08 - Jam Packed 46 358's at Lincoln Speedway!
The night was hopeful for us with a scheduled 3rd starting spot in our heat race. However, our luck changed as entering turn 4 we brushed the right side into a car that had spun in front of us. We worked most of night fixing the damage to the wing and rear end to prepare the car for the scheduled 2nd consolation event. Our hard work paid off as we were able to get it together for our consi. We started 10th passed 6 cars to finish 4th getting us into the feature! We started 24th in the feature and ended up 21st. Overall a good night considering the consequences of our earlier heat race.

6.6.08 - Long, Hard Fault Race at Trail-Way Speedway
On one of the most humid nights of the racing season started out great for us as we battled in our heat race to finish a solid 3rd place. This finish put us on the inside of the seventh row of the feature event. The feature was a true test of endurance for the drivers as several cautions and red flags waved. Our team pushed and battled thru it lap after lap, trying different racing lines and ways to get a a good bite on the dry, dusty track. We ended the night with a decent 13th place finish.

5.23.08 - Tight Competition at
Trail-Way Speedway
Finally nice weather decided to stick around this Friday night! The track was fast which made for tight competition. In the heat it was a hard fought battle between car and driver as setup seemed to be the cause. During the heat, in every corner the front left wanted to come off the track forcing a change in racing line. We kept it on the track to finish 5th, qualifing us for the feature. In the feature we started 13th gaining a few positions, battling through the field for what seemed to be a hopeful tenth place finish when after few cautions and 3 laps to go in turn 4 we got a little out of shape but regrouped to finish the feature 14th.

5.2.08 - For the Second Straight Week, Received the DS Diversified Services Hard Charger Award at Trail-Way Speedway.
Great news started Thursday night when an addition was added to the 4u team. Mason David Mentzer was born. Mason is the newly born son of Matt and Emily Mentzer, the owners of Upper Bermudian Nursery and Excavating. It was a great night for racing, the track held a lot of moisture and was fast. In the heat race we failed to finish due to a flaw with the tear offs. In the feature we started 18th and worked our way up to 7th place which awarded us for the second week in a row, the hard charger award.

4.25.08 - Received the DS Diversified Services Hard Charger Award at Trail-Way Speedway
This friday at Trailways started out great. We drew a good number and started on the pole in the heat race.  Out front and leading the first 4 laps, we had a mechanical problem causing us to drop out of the heat race.  We then had to start in the rear of the feature in 20th starting position.  We past some cars along the way, and others dropped out allowing us to finish the race in 9th position and officially the Diversified Services hard charger.

4.18.08 - First time racing at Trail-Way Speedway
Having never raced at Trail-Way before I'd say overall not a bad night of racing for us, didn't end the way we wanted but for the most part valuable experience was gained. The track was real tacky and fast in the heat race. We ended up finishing a proud 2nd. Then later we started 7th in the feature where there were 6 cautions in a row with only one lap in the books! Our night was ended when entering turn 2 a car spun directly in front of me, I had nowhere to go AGAIN but right into the car ahead. Luckily, the collision only took my front wing and I was able to quickly get to the pits to remove the damaged wing. I had them push me out without the front wing, ran around for awhile but the handling was out of control plus I ran out of tear-offs! Ended up pulling it into the infield for the duration of the race.

4.12.08 - Good run for first race of the season at Lincoln Speedway
Lincoln went up and down last night. In the heat race the first lap 3 cars flipped in front of me with no where to go.
I ran into the one flipping. It only damaged the wings, so we got the car back out, and finished 5th in the heat. Not good enough to qualify, but we ran the consolation event and finished 1st. Then another stream of bad luck in the feature with one guy spinning out and the guy in front of me checked up, causing me to hit his rear tire doing a wily stand, but landed and finished the race 16th. Not the best finish but, considering the fact that there was some damage to the car, causing handling to be tough not a bad night of racing for our first race of the year.
Cars flipping all over the place in front of me. Leaving me with nowhere to go. Photos by Darren Landis

4.11.08 - Rain Rain Go Away!
Once again for the second week in a row mother nature has made its way into Central PA dropping rain and cancelling the Trail-Way Speedway 358 Sprint Car Opener! Really wish we could have run tonight! We would've started on the poll in our heat race! Tomorrow at Lincoln Speedway is not looking good, as well. We'll all have to keep our fingers crossed for a break in the weather for a few hours.
